Just before I go out and buy the Digitech, The Drop pedal, just wondering if anyone knows of a vst plugin that does the same thing as the pedal ? I only have 1 guitar and am looking for a way that I change quickly change between between E and Eb tuning. |

The best solution is a Variax guitar. You really need a pickup per string to do this right, anything else will be a compromise. For gigging musicians that need a number of open turnings and some quick guitar changes, a Variax Standard or JVT is a pretty serviceable option. I wouldn't use one for my goto guitar, but for occasional use on a gig, its pretty functional. |

New Free Vst Plugins

Apologies if this is a naive question but completely new to this technology.
I have just recently purchase a focusrite 2i2 and started using jamkazam, I have had a couple of sessions with my guitar just direct into the focusrite and it was ok, but tonight I wanted to play with a bit of overdrive so decided to use my line 6firehawk fx, I thought it sounded ok at my end.
So my question is what are the pros and cons of multi effects VST plug ins, such as guitar rig 5 versus a multi effects unit
