I had an issue with a third party plug-ins presets not being installed in the correct location. I moved the presets to the correct location, where the plug-in searches for presets, re-opened Studio One and still no presets. After some trouble shooting (repairing disk permissions, etc.) and verifying. I had an issue with a third party plug-ins presets not being installed in the correct location. All of your VST instruments and effects must be put in a folder where Studio One can find it. On install, it typically asks you where your VST folder is. This is how Studio One knows where your virtual instruments/FX are located. Any other folder your VST host application is scanning during startup by default is also suitable. But, to keep plug-in installations independent from a specific VST host release, never install plug-ins into the program folder of the VST host application or any other program! S1 free didnt recognize any of my plugins after install and first time opening. The manual says go Studio One / options/ locations / vst plugins , but the path ends at locations. There is no vst plugins option. Does S1 free allow you to use 3rd party plugins?
Ive actually tried opening and closing S1 a couple of times to see if it would scan my VST folder but no dice!
The manual also says you can drag n drop a vst plugin folder but that hasnt worked either.
Any ideas? Thanks for taking a second.

Studio1.v2 is a great DAW. It's a big let down and disappointment to find standard VST plugins aren't supported. I have several Native Instruments plugins plus BFD3 that can't be used. Hope version 3 addresses this issue. At the moment am trying the Pro Demo and will likely walk away from buying it.

The Pro Demo does support VST. Artist and Free are the only current versions that do not have vst support.

There is always a way, you could record your favorite VST with other DAW and fly it into the tracks.
Peace!
