A VST plugin is a software-based audio effect or a virtual instrument intended for use in a host program that supports Virtual Studio Technology. Most digital audio workstations nowadays can load VST and VST3 plugins. VST plugins are used to expand a virtual music studio, much like how hardware effects and instruments are utilized in a real studio. Linear phase mode, natural phase mode, mid/side processing, and dynamic EQ are a few of its best qualities. Each instance can handle up to 24 EQ bands, and several shapes and customization options are available. FabFilter Pro-Q 3 is the industry’s favorite equalizer, and many producers consider it a must-have VST plugin. This plugin is a 'snapin'. That means you can use it as a regular VST/AU plugin, or you can use it with our snapin hosts Multipass and Snap Heap where you can combine effects in amazing ways.

  1. Harmony Rotator is a VST plugin that accepts midi notes and generates up to 3 additional harmony notes from a set of predefined offsets. The plugin defines 4 voices: the main voice, a parallel voice, and 2.

Have you ever wanted to rotate the phases of your signal to create frequency sweeps?
  3. I noticed that Izotope RX2 has a 'phase rotator' tool. (Different than a phase 'shift' tool). It's purpose is to make asymmetrical waveforms more symmetric - and gains a few dB of level by doing so. According to a paper I read by Bob Orban, radio broadcasting processors use phase rotators to squeeze a few more dB out of audio program - mostly.

Have you ever wanted to rotate the phases of your signal to create frequency sweeps? Funny, neither had we, but then we tried it and were blown away! Disperser smears high energy transients through space and time without modifying the gain of the sound.

The result is a different take on transient shaping or, when used at extreme settings, an effect capable of shaping the sounds in ways you didn’t know you wanted to do. Boomy kicks, snappy hihats, synthetic wet basses or just a sweet utility to shape your signal's peaks and crest factor. The choice is yours!

'What we love so much about Disperser is the fact that it can really give that extra power to basslines, to give that extra impact that we think is not possible with just boosting the lows with a standard EQ.'Solidtrax'It's like audio monosodium-glutamate!'Datassette

PHA-979 is a professional audio AAX, AudioUnit and VST plugin which allows you to apply an arbitrary phase shift to sound material. What is meant by the phase shift here is simultaneous shifting of all frequencies across the active frequency range of the signal by the given value in degrees. This is achieved by linear-phase design.

PHA-979 is useful during mixing sessions, especially when working with the sound material recorded through an array of microphones. In many cases this allows you to solve various phasing problems arising from the microphone placement chosen during the tracking session. In other cases this process may help you to align drums and other instruments to each other bringing punch and time coherence not attainable by the ordinary time-aligning alone.

Beside the phase shifting, PHA-979 features positive and negative time delaying that eliminates the need to move in-track events in the sequencer when doing time alignment over any set of recorded tracks. PHA-979 also provides mid/side channel balance and panning controls that permit you to record stereo microphone pairs into a single stereo track without resorting to dual mono recording (on separate tracks) which usually becomes time-consuming in a further editing.

PHA-979 features multi-band analog-style correlation meter that greatly simplifies phase- and time-aligning process. Moreover, you can use functionality PHA-979 provides to setup headphone monitoring so that it closer resembles sound stage produced by stereo speaker monitoring.
